Located at the heart of the medieval city of Saint-Pons de Thomières, the Museum of Regional Prehistory allows you to see the neolithic collections found in the Haut-Languedoc caves, Camprafraud and Resplandy among others.
The Saintponiens (5900 BP) have left the caves in a large number of relics: bones tools, polished stone, pottery. On the Haut-Languedoc mountains, they built menhir-statues, engraved steles, mysterious and always visible. Some of them are presented and staged in the museum in an original sound and light show.
A genealogy table, movies, a documentary film enhance the visit to facilitate your understanding of this period.
